 Friends of Groveland
The mission of the Friends of Groveland committee is to raise funds to support programs and enrichment activities at Groveland Park School. This committee allocates funds raised with input from the school community and manages the distribution of funds.

Every year Friends puts out a call for requests for funds to all Groveland committees and staff. Requests are made in writing and are generally due at the end of October. In early November, the Friends of Groveland committee holds an allocation meeting which is open to all interested parties. Income for the year is projected and then requests are reviewed by all people present at the meeting. The allocations are finalized that night and all requestors are notified of the committee’s final decisions within two weeks.

Funding priorities are listed in the Friends of Groveland bylaws as follows:
a. First consideration shall go to requests that affect all or nearly all of the students in the school, AND
1) help Groveland Park School meet and exceed high academic standards (e.g., teacher grants, student conduct improvement committee, curriculum committee) OR
2) enrich the educational experience of Groveland Park School students (e.g., language instruction, school patrol, music and gym, technology, SEM) OR
3) enhance communication between parents, the school and the community (e.g., brown envelopes, principal fund)
b. Second consideration shall go to individual and miscellaneous requests, if funds are available.
