Hearts, Hands and Minds on Learning
Mr. Leiknes is the new Music Instructor here at Groveland Park Elementary School. He has taught at all grade levels and has taught Choir, Guitar Class, Piano Lab, MIDI Lab, Recording Lab, Music Theatre and more. Mr. Leiknes is thrilled to be here at Groveland Park and looks forward to working with the students, staff and parents to achieve the highest level of success and quality in music education and performance. Aside from enjoying family activities, Mr. Leiknes gives guitar lessons, voice lessons, and performs in a professional Cover Band on the weekends.

Park Elementary. \ This is his 14th year of teaching in
Saint Paul Public Schools. He splits time between Groveland, Highland, and Roosevelt schools. He received his B.S. in Music Education in December of 1990. His
principle instruments are trombone and voice However, he feels the most
comfortable on all of the brass instruments, but also does very well on
all of the woodwind instruments. He plays
with a small group of friends around Christmas time, holiday music in a
group I named called the Silent Nightmare's.
