 | | A awesome picture of Anne Bonny, female pirate | 3-6-08 Anne Bonny I was born March 8, 1700. My father’s wife was not aware of my birth, but when she found out, we moved from Country Cork, Ireland to Charleston, South Carolina. At the age of 16, I married James Bonny. I eventually left him for Chidly Baret. After a while, I left him for a man named Calico Jack Rackhum, a famous pirate, to become a pirate, too. In 1719, I met an English sailor named Mary Read. I only knew her a year. In 1720, our ship was attacked be Captain Barnet of England. Mary and I defended the ship, but it was useless. We were taken to Jamaica to be tried. At the age of 20, I was sentenced to hang. I then disappeared | | Anne fighting another pirate on a beach. | from local records. I was the most famous female pirate ever. I was famous for having a horrid temper, being a better fighter than most men and for hiding my identity to become a pirate. I was the only female pirate, besides Mary. I was also famous for being the only female pirate to pillage the Western Hemisphere. I was also famous for my last words to Calico Jack, “I am sorry to see you here, Jack, but if you had fought like a man, you need not hang like a dog.” I am Anne Bonny, female pirate.
