Queen Elizabeth 1
ts-2_52
I was born on September 7, 1533, in Greenwich Palace. I was named after my grandma. I was King Henry VIII’s second child. My mom, Anne Boleyn, was beheaded on May 19, 1536 because she couldn’t produce an heir.
I became Queen of England in 1558 when I was twenty-five years old. I was crowned by the bishop of Carlisle. After that, there was the marriage question. I knew marriage was a good thing because I could then produce an heir. I didn’t want to end up like my mom. I was prepared to marry my friend since childhood named Robert Dudley. But, I decided that I didn’t want a man to help me govern and I never did get married.
In 1563 I got smallpox and received scars. I became very depressed, partly because some of my friends died. Then I got extremely sick in March. I died when I was 70 between 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning in Richmond Palace on March 24, 1603. People remember me because I never got married and I had the longest rein in the history of England. I am Queen Elizabeth 1.
