During the course of the year, students will come into contact with a wide variety of art pieces and styles. In order for students to better understand, remember, and discuss these artistic pieces we will be focusing on four major styles of art. Students will be introduced to the ideas surrounding each school, as well as examples or well known pieces.
This study will continue throughout the year during our "exploring culture" time. Students will be asked to discuss as a body which of the four styles each week's piece should fall under. They will not only need to take visuals under consideration, but when the piece was created, and where.
